Basics

  • Low section block, reverse punch in a long forward stance (Ap Koobi Seogi)

  • Outer block, reverse punch in Ap Koobi Seogi

  • Inner block, reverse punch in Ap Koobi Seogi

  • Free sparring

  • Foot technique sparring

  • Basic footwork drills

 

Poomsae

  • Pattern 1 - Jung shim in your own time.

 

Belt tying

Students should be able to demonstrate tying their own belt

  • Reverse Turning Kick (Bandae Dollyo Chagi)

  • Step over Dwit Chagi, Jump Dwit Chagi.

 

Partner work

  • Free sparring

  • One step sparring

  • Self defence - simple releases from grabs

 

Poomsae

  • Pattern 5 - Jung Yin

POOMSAE: JUNG HYO


 

Basics

  • Any moves from either Jung Hyo or previous poomsae in a basic format. 

  • Double low section knife hand block Dwit Koobi Seogi, Reverse middle section elbow with a target, Ap Koobi Seogi

  • Double high section X-fist block in a long forward stance, Triple punch starting obverse one high, double middle

  • Spear Finger strike basics

 

Basics Kicking

  • All previous kicks including Slip Side Kick, Slip Spin Side Kick.

  • Front kick, reverse turning kick

  • Hook Kick (Hooryo CHagi)

 

Partner work

  • Free Sparring

  • One Step Sparring

  • Self Defence - Simple releases from grabs with a counter attack and simple joint locks

 

Poomsae

  • Pattern 6 - Jung Hyo




 

Syllabus 7

POOMSAE: JUNG HAENG

 

Basics

  • Any moves from either Jung Haeng or previous poomsae in a basic format

  • Double middle section guard and block Dwit Koobi Seogi, reverse arc hand strike Ap Koobi Seogi

  • Stepping forward punching in a sitting stance, Knife hand side strike in a sitting stance, reverse middle section elbow with target in a long forward stance

  • Front snap kick, obverse back fist in a long forward stance

 

Basics Kicking

  • All previous kicks

  • Jump Ap Chagi, Jump Dollyo Chagi, Flying Side Kick

 

Partner work

  • Free Sparring

  • One Step Sparring

  • Self Defence - Takedowns

 

Poomsae

  • Pattern 7 - Jung Haeng

 

Breaking

  • Students have to be able to break break boards or wood with 2 hand and 2 kicking techniques.

 

Stretching and Mobility

  • Students must show a good range of stretching and mobility for their age. Juniors must try and be in both front splits and box splits.





 

Syllabus 8

POOMSAE: JUNG DO

 

Basics

  • Students must be able to perform any complex basic movements of the Instructors choosing in numerous stances.

 

Basics Kicking

  • All previous kicks

  • Jump Reverse Turning Kick

  • 360 kicking combinations

 

Partner work

  • Free Sparring

  • One Step Sparring

  • Self Defence - Demonstrate various self defence moves from an unknown attack, including punches, grabs, holds and kicks.

 

Poomsae

  • Pattern 1-8 PAL CHUNG DO SYSTEM BACK TO BACK

 

Breaking

  • Students have to be able to break break boards or wood with 2 hand and 2 kicking techniques.

 

Stretching and Mobility

  • Students must show a good range of stretching and mobility for their age. Juniors must try and be in both front splits and box splits.
